recap: leveraging the cloud meetup

Oct. 12th | Posted by 1 comments

it’s been quite an eventful week! on monday, we were guest speakers at a meetup held at rocketspace in san francisco, a startup accelerator space that holds awesome (often) free meetups about twice a week. it was also the premiere of our video, where we talked about how we use stitch to manage our business transactions, along with apps like sail and shopify to run our other channels of business. we had a great time chatting about our experience so far as a small business, as well as catching up with some tech industry experts and other small business owners like us. here, some images and notes from the event.

moderating our meet up was joshua zerkel of custom living solutions, who is a master at life and business organization. our fellow small business panelist was michael maher of taylor stitch, a custom tshirt shop in the mission who uses apps like xero, vend and shopify to run his business (his video here). it was great to hear from another small business like us that was also using cloud apps to service his business.

the interesting thing about this meetup was that it brought us as users together with the app builders. brandon levey from stitch labs, vaughan roswell from vend (who gifted us some new zealand wine! thanks vaughan!), jamie sutherland from xero and brennan loh from shopify joined the panel to talk about how cloud apps can strengthen small businesses and how they take users into account as they develop their applications. we loved getting the insights of these super-techy guys and what they see for the future of the cloud for business.

we had a wonderful time getting insight from the builders, as well as hearing some great audience questions and even getting to know some fellow small business owners. thank you to all that came out and to everyone involved with the event, we’d love to do it again!
